In March, St. Louis-based Potter Global Technologies, a leading manufacturer of fire and life safety equipment, became one of KKR’s latest portfolio companies to implement a broad-based employee ownership program.
All 850 of Potter’s employees are now owners in the company, which KKR acquired in November 2023. In this video, Potter employees in St. Louis share their excitement and immediate reactions to becoming “Potter Owners” for the first time.
Since 2011, KKR has supported more than 40 of its portfolio companies in awarding equity worth billions of dollars to over 60,000 non-management employees. Through the program, KKR has demonstrated how broad-based engagement and alignment can create business value while driving greater financial inclusion.
KKR is also a founding partner of Ownership Works, a non-profit on a mission to increase prosperity by developing and implementing broad-based employee ownership programs.
